At the end of April a group of 10 set out from the Diss Air Cadet Centre for the local PADI diving centre at
Diveline in Ipswich
to try their hand at scuba diving.
The course they were trying was a PADI
Discover Scuba Diving Course
for which each cadet earned a PADI certificate to record their experience in their National Record of Achievement folders.
The day consisted of an introductory video presentation that explained the basics of scuba diving, the do-s and the do not-s, and within an hour of arriving at the dive centre the first group found themselves in the water.
Then followed a half-hour dive for each group in the dive centre's own indoor heated pool - with all excuses given for the playing of games with underwater 'rockets', 'frisbees' and more.
All declared the morning a great experience with a number keen to return for a second try or even to look at attempting a full PADI
Open Water Diver Course
